Flicker of Inspiration and Prompt #26: The Key

Were you as inspired as I was this week by the photo prompt? There was just something very cool about this photo. As a reminder, here's what you had to work with:

I'm still polishing up my piece, but I can't wait to read everyone else's!

You know the "rules".

 1) Just linkup your post responding to our photo prompt below. You have until Wednesday to complete the prompt and linkup.

 2) Try to visit and comment on two to three other posters in the linkup. Be thoughtful and supportive in your comments.

 3) Help us grow by grabbing a button (from the right sidebar) and pimping us out on twitter or facebook.
Flicker of Inspiration Prompt #26: The Key
Keys have always been fascinating to me, especially old skeleton keys. I guess it's the possibilities they represent. I always wonder where they will lead? What treasures they will unlock? Whose long forgotten history they will reveal? This week we'd like you to write about a key. It can be a figurative key (the key to one's heart, etc.) or a literal key that your character finds and is compelled to use to unlock something. Take this key in an unexpected direction. Unlock something funny, interesting, mysterious, compelling, or beautiful for your readers. Unlock a story from deep inside your imagination and let the words free. 500 words or less. Don't forget to return here next Sunday to link up your stories about a key.
