It's the sort of misunderstanding that can drive a plot forward. Done well, it can be either the foundation or climax for an entire story; done badly, it can just be a cheap cliche for easy laughs. But that panicked feeling, where you know you've been seen doing (or seeming to be do) something you may or may not have in fact been doing, is extremely relatable. It's safe to say we've all been there.

And, maybe, just maybe, it actually is what it looks like. Whatever that might be.
