Flicker of Inspiration Linkup #34: S-s-shuffle!

Your goal this week was to create a piece that featured a sudden shift - a change in mood, a twist in the plot, a major character revelation, etc. For extra credit, do it twice - not only is Darth Vader Luke's father, for instance - but the emperor is his mother! Woah, what a twist!

Beyond that, but not beyond 1,000 words, anything goes. Let's see what you all came up with!
