Flicker of Inspiration Prompt #38: Letter Writing Campaign

You may or may not be aware of it, but there's been a campaign to make this a Month of Letters (@lettermonth #lettermo). In the spirit of that, we at L&LB suggest this week that you write a letter - by hand, if you like, and you can even mail it to the person, but also feel free to type it and share it with us here this Sunday.

We want you to write a letter to someone you've never met. This can be your congressman, if you haven't met your congressman; it could be your favorite blogger, or a celebrity you really like, or your potential future great-grandchild ("Dear Dithrix, I hope you're not antagonizing your lizard overlords."). Literally any person, living or dead, that is to date un-met by you.

I'd suggest keeping it under a page or two, so depending on your handwriting that can be between 500 and 700 words. For the linkup, we'll call the word limit at 700 or so.

If you want to participate in the Month of Letters, great! Go buy some stamps and get started; the way I see it, the month starts when you do. (Feb. is cheaper for stamps though; not as many days in the month). It's probably a great exercise, as well, not to mention sentimental and probably a nice thing to do for the people you write to (assuming you write nice letters, which nobody says you have to do).
